David Ellery Olson of Parker, Colorado, had a dignified passing surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the age of 76. A loving husband, devoted father, dedicated brother, and playful grandpa, he will be deeply missed by all.
David Olson was born in, Maddock, North Dakota on November 29, 1946, the son of Elma (Stenerodden) and Stanton Olson. Growing up in Devils Lake with his 12 siblings, David always had a propensity to help. Whether working for Nabisco, financing cars, or working in mortgage, David always put his customers’ needs first. It was this bent of helping and serving others that eventually led him to the Reverse Mortgage business, in Parker, Colorado, where he was known throughout the community for his thoughtful approach to helping seniors financially.
But where he really made his impact was with his family. His cherubim, ever smiling face filled the house with joy and love. Whether discussing the ups and downs of the Denver Broncos, enjoying his favorite hobby of playing golf, giving his children real-life advice and support, or sitting on the floor playing dollies and trucks with his grandchildren, he always brought an air of cheerfulness and kindness.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diann (Hemry) Olson; daughters, Monique (Dean) Zimmerman and Whitney (Brandon) Humphrey; son, Jeffrey (Lina) Olson; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three brothers and eight sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Olson.
There will be a Celebration of Life for David held in Parker on Sunday, February 19, 2023. People wishing to honor David’s lifelong commitment to the community can make donations to an Animal Rescue of their choice.
