Obituary of John Thomas Gleason
John Thomas Gleason, Jr. of Parker, Colorado passed away October 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 30, 1944 in York, Nebraska to John T. Gleason, Sr. and Irma M. Gleason (Jokerst). He and Verna Leonard were married on June 20, 1964 in San Diego, California. Parker has been their home for 49 years.
John was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed ice racing on Georgetown Lake, metalworking, woodworking, flintknapping, camping, hunting, fishing and playing with his Golden Retrievers. His family was by far his greatest joy and he was happiest when surrounded by them. John was always creating something and was happy to help family and neighbors with any project they may have.
John served in the U.S. Navy 1963-1969 and achieved the rank of Petty Officer First Class/Machinist.
John retired from Gates Rubber Co. in 2006 after 37 years as a Master Machinist and owned Gleason Machine and Fabrication until the time of his passing.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Irma Gleason and infant sister, Janet.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna of Parker; daughter Jennifer Gleason of Centennial, CO; son John Gleason and wife Chelsie of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Sara Gleason of Parker, CO; and grandsons Ryder Gleason and Brody Gleason of Colorado Springs, CO.
Also surviving are his siblings; David and wife Gloria of Kerrville, TX; Denna and husband Jim Stokes of Colorado Springs, CO; Julie and husband Noble Wildman of Colorado Springs, CO; Michael and wife Sarah of Colorado Springs, CO; Mary and husband Randy Pfannenstiel of Wichita, KS along with numerous aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers in-law, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 2, 11:00 AM at:
Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO. Staging of vehicles at 10:45 in lane 2.
Following the service a reception will be held at:
American Legion Centennial Post 209, 3613 Jeannine Drive, Colorado Springs, CO.
