While at Lock Haven, Jess was always a source of positive energy with a wonderful smile. Her friendly manner connected with so many LHU Bald Eagles and caused them to truly enjoy time spent as young adults expiring toward the future. A teacher among teachers, Jess showed me basic guitar cords when I returned from a trip to State College with a Washburn and fleeting dreams of "making it big." Despite my ineptitude, Jess was patient and encouraging, traits which I am sure inspired many students she taught during her career. Another favorite memory is when she visited us shortly after my oldest son's birth. Jess' present was a bright, tie-dyed, one-piece, long-underwear with a backside-hatch. It is one of most memorable outfits he wore as a toddler and I smile when I think of it. I am sad and will miss her. -Michael Engler
