Obituary of Loren Ashton Brandt
Loren Ashton Brandt passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2021, at the age of 8. For those who were blessed to know and love Loren, you know that despite a lifetime of medical challenges, he was still full of joy, smiles and laughter.
Loren was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on March 19, 2012. At birth Loren suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest that left him with multiple complex medical issues that required 24 hour care for his entire life. Despite these challenges, Loren was able to bless multiple foster care family’s in Pennsylvania before being introduced to Shane and Elizabeth. The Brandt’s immediately fell in love with Loren and his beautiful brown eyes, beaming smile and his love to cuddle with anyone who would hold him. Loren came home to Colorado with the Brandt Family on November 9, 2019. There is a shortness of words for the impact he had on their family and all the people who supported and worked to provide him the best and most comfortable home imaginable. Loren loved it when his crazy brothers and sisters would run around him, over him and lay on top of him. He was particularly fond of music, especially when his sisters would sing to him if he ever became upset. Their voices always seemed to calm him.
Loren Ashton Brandt officially became a permanent member of the Brandt family when he was adopted at 11:30 am Monday, January 4, 2021, just one day before his passing. The circumstances of how the adoption came together are amazing. As the judge later stated, “It was as though God wanted to see the adoption happen before bringing him home.”
Loren will be missed by so many. He is survived by his parents, Shane and Elizabeth Brandt and their nine children, Kaden, Kadijia, Kesley, Nephi, Kinnick, Kora, Kyrie, Kayson and Kathryn), his grandparents, Donald Krivachek; Judy Spalla; and Sandra Brandt. Loren is preceded in death by his grandfather, Sherwin; Uncle Lee; Aunt Jodie.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.“ Rev 21:4 (ESV)
