James A. Marot, 70, of Parker, was called home on February 22, 2010. Loving Husband of Lea. Beloved Father of Christi (Jim) Nelson, Michelle (Frank) White and Jami Marot Sato. Proud Papa of 10 Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 26th at 4 pm at Providence Presbyterian Church, 18632 Pony Express Drive (Across from the Post Office) in Parker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Douglas County Open Space Coalition.
Jim was born on March 10, 1939 in Providence, Rhode Island to Edna and Raymond Marot. Jim was invested in education achieving a Master's Degree in Non-Profit Business Management from Regis University. Jim married Lea Rahning on July 27, 1963 in Denver, CO. Jim worked for Western Electric which later became AT&T for 30+ years and wore many hats from installation to management. Jim was involved in many civic activities, some with his children as well as within the community. He enjoyed coaching softball and being intricately involved with establishing the first girl's softball team in Douglas County. He was pivotal in the work it took to develop community projects such as a Teen Driving Facility as well as many parks here in Parker and the Douglas County Open Space Project. Jim was very passionate about his politcal and spritual beliefs. He was involved in several bible studies as well as the first Friday Breakfast Club. Jim is survived by his four siblings, Eileen Wilson, Richard (Betty) Marot, Maureen (Rocco) Marsigliano and Raymond (Debbie) Marot. Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edna Marot.
