Obituary of Michael W. Press

Michael W. Press was a resident of Graham, Washington. He passed away on August 2, 2015 at University Hospital in Seattle, Washington. There will be a memorial Mass held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker, Colorado. Internment will take place during Christmas time when Michael enjoyed coming home to Colorado to spend time with his family and friends whom he loved so dearly. Michael was born on July 24, 1966 in El Paso, Texas to Harry E. Press, Jr. and Norma L. Rivas Press. Michael was employed by Pierce County in Graham, Washington from 2003-2015 and was working as an Equipment Technician Lead Mechanic and supervisor. All of Michael’s co-workers were very fond of him and enjoyed working with/for him. They said that most people come to work because they have to but Michael came to work because he wanted to and because he loved his job. Michael was a stock car driver and enjoyed racing. He was very proud of his race car (#79). Michael had numerous trophies for races he participated in and won throughout the years he raced. Michael was also a very devoted Bronco fan. He enjoyed watching the Broncos play football and would get very excited when they would win; especially, when they would beat the Seattle Seahawks. Michael is survived by his mother Norma L. Rivas Press, his father Harry E. (Cheryl) Press Jr., his sister Sandra (Scott) Busha, his brothers Larry (Noelle) Press and Chuck (Michelle) Press, his Grandmother (Nani) Beatrice Rivas, his uncles Bobby Press and Bill Rivas, his aunts Marie Ybarra and Donna Rivas-Ramos, nephews C.J. Nava and Julian Press, his niece Mariah Nava, his great niece Raelynn Longe, several cousins and numerous friends. Michael touched many peoples’ lives and all who knew him loved him dearly. Michael will be most remembered for his nearly constant smile and pleasant demeanor. He will be greatly missed! We love you Michael!
