Obituary of Lee Hartsough

Lee "Andy" Hartsough, 68, of Franktown, Colorado, Entered into Eternal Life on March 23, 2016 with family at his side. Andy passed away from a sudden illness and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Loving Husband of 16 years to Sandra. Proud Father of Geneva (Tim) Fritch and Andrea (Shawn) Peacock. Grandpa of Cassandra, Faith, Ashley and Justin. Stepfather of Kristopher, Bobby and Cody. Son of Helen Widdifield and brother of Eric (Diana), Rex (Maryann) and Alan Hartsough. Andy was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Colorado where he graduated from Lakewood High School. He was the school mascot, excelled at gymnastics and placed at the State competition. Andy also enjoyed hunting, auto mechanics and was on precision horse team with the Westernaires. He joined the US Coast Guard in 1968 where he served for 4 years in Mobile, Alabama. He met his wife, Gloria Jernigan of 24 years, and moved backed to Colorado where he spent the rest of his life. He had two daughters and enjoyed many family adventures with boating, camping and scuba diving. Andy became a grandpa in 1996 and enjoyed being with his 4 grandchildren. He met Sandy Moran 17 years ago, and became Step-dad to three boys and fell in love with his Pomeranian pups. Andy continued to have many more adventures camping and collecting rocks in the mountains. He worked 36 years for the State of Colorado where he traveled and had numerous adventures all across the state maintaining communication towers. Andy loved to restore motorcycles and cars, playing the drums, and karate. His greatest passion was flying and he owned several planes throughout his life. He flew many rescue missions for the Civil Air Patrol where he achieved the rank of Colonel. We will miss his smile, laugh and humorous nature.
